MUSIKMAX is a compilation CD project that focus on local music scenes in the Philippines as defined by geographical and cultural (language) segments. In the Philippines, music is dominated by artists from the center region in Manila. What we set out to do is apply our recording and production expertise to far flung regions of the country, select local artists with original music material, set up mobile recording studio and engage the local community of artists, photographers and radio stations in crafting the final CD product. This photo is the cover for MusikMAX BICOL, the first installment of our MUSIKMAX local music concept, it features 19 songs by 8 bands from Bicol region in the Philippines. Our next target regions are BAGUIO (in the north) and DAVAO (in the south). With the $30,000 prize money we can definitely proceed in recording and producing two more unique MusikMAX CD releases.
