99trailers - New Show on 99stories!

There's a new show on 99stories, dedicated to bringing you the latest and hottest movie trailers from around the world. Just to let you know what's coming to your local cinema a couple of weeks later. 99trailers is purest customer service. To make things even better, every now and then we will provide some goodies like fan packages and tickets. The first load of trailers is online now. Win 3x2 tickets for Will Smith's "Seven Pounds" (in cinemas from January 8th) or three fan packages for "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler (coming December 25th). We're also showing the trailer for "Australia" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.

vielen Dank fürs Reinklicken. Da wir den Email-Newsletter kurz halten wollten, haben wir auf diesen Blogpost gelinkt, um dich über einige Neuigkeiten bei Hobnox zu informieren.
Evolution2 Contest
Das Finale des Evolution2 Contests ist in vollem Gange, die heiße Phase läuft. Bis zum 14. Dezember (00h59 MEZ) kannst du aus den 72 Projekten deinen Favoriten wählen und täglich für ihn voten. Nach dem finalen Community-Voting werden die drei Gewinner in den Kategorien Musik, Film und Kultur am Montag, den 15. Dezember von unserer Redaktion im Rahmen einer finalen 'News From The Evolution Show' auf www.hobnox.com bekanntgegeben. Eine Übersicht aller Finalisten, die von euch - der Hobnox Community - und der Jury ausgewählt wurden, findest du hier.
Im Anschluss werden wir uns mit den Gewinnern zusammensetzen und den Plan entwickeln, inwiefern das Support-Budget in Höhe von je 30.000 US-Dollar bestmöglich auf die Bedürfnisse der Gewinner zugeschnitten werden kann, um der 'Karriere' Aufwind zu geben.

Wenn du die Navigation öffnest, findest du nun oben links im Player (siehe roten Kasten) einen 'New' Buton. Der zeigt dir die neuesten Folgen auf HobnoxTV.
Embed Codes: Bisher konntest du das Format des Embed-Players auswählen: 16:9 oder 4:3. Ab sofort kannst du auch die Größe des Embed Players bestimmen. Du kannst den kleinen Balken (unten links im folgenden Bild) verschieben, um die Größe des Players zu erhalten, die du brauchst. Die Skalierung von Höhe und Breite stimmen sich automatisch ab.

Hobnox Audiotool
Die Möglichkeit, eure Tracks mit dem Audiotool aufzunehmen sowie Updates im Interface des Tools sind je bereits seit einigen Wochen aktiv. Wir arbeiten gerade mit Hochdruck am Update, das Anfang des kommenden des Jahres gelauncht werden soll. Ab dann könnt ihr eure Tracks in einer Timeline arrangieren und eure Patterns bzw. Setups speichern. Ihr könnt aber jetzt schon eure Tracks aufnehmen und diese auf eurer Stage der Community präsentieren, oder per Embed Player auf anderen Seite einbinden. 2009 wird ein sehr spannendes Jahr für das Audiotool.
Die Reaktionen auf das Audiotool in Blogs und auf Twitter sind durchwegs Klasse! Wenn ihr lesen möchtet, was andere so über das Tool schreiben, checkt den Technorati und Twitter Feed Unten ein Foto von Brightkite User hubflanger auf Adobe's MAX Konferenz im November, wo Kevin Lynch (der CTO von Adobe!) während seiner Eröffnungsrede das Audiotool als Referenzprojekt in Flash 10 präsentiert. Sehr cool!

Hey you,
thanks for checking in. We got a couple of news to share with you before the Christmas madness starts. We wanted to keep the Newsletter short so we linked to this post right here. Let's get started:
Evolution2 Contest
The finals of the Evolution2 Contest are on. A total of 72 projects are competing in the final community voting and you get to choose your favourite project in the categories Music, Film and Culture and decide who wins the grand prize. Check out the finalists that were selected by you – the Hobnox Community – and our jury of professionals here.
The voting is open until December 14th (midnight CET) and the winners will be announced by the Hobnox Editorial team in a final News From The Evolution Show on Monday, December 15th on www.hobnox.com.
We will then sit down with the winners of the $30,000 artist support packages and develop an action plan on how to best spend the budget tailored to the needs of the winners and help boost their careers in the best possible way. We will of course keep you updated of this process right here on the blog.
HobnoxTV
We made updated the navigations with some features:
First of all, we added a 'New' tab to the channel navigation. So in case you haven't visited for a while, you get an overview of the latest episodes on HobnoxTV (see red box below):
In addition to the format selection of the embed player (16:9 or 4:3), if you want to grab the embed code of an episode, you can now rescale to the format you need. It will also automatically scale the ratio of the player if you drag the scaler at the bottom left, see a detail here:

Hobnox Audiotool
The ability to record your tracks with the Hobnox Audiotool and the interface improvements have been out for some time now. We are very busy preparing for an early 09 update that will include pattern saving, timeline and arrangement functionalities and a couple of other things. Meanwhile, start producing your own tracks and present them to the community on your Stage. 2009 will be an exciting year for the Audiotool.
We've been getting awesome feedbacks on the Audiotool, see all blog posts about it in this Technorati search feed and check what Twitter users are saying about the tool here. The photo below was taken at by Brightkite user hubflanger at Adobe's MAX conference in November and shows Kevin Lynch (Adobe's CTO!) demoing the Audiotool as a reference project in Flash 10 during his opening keynote:

Hobnox Supports The World Aids Day

'Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise!'
People: The number of humans being infected by HIV is continuing to rise in every part of the world. There are now 33 million people living with HIV worldwide.
Hobnox is an official partner of the World AIDS Day.
In cooperation with the Aids-Initiative STEPS FOR THE FUTURE we exclusively present the short film embedded below. Its was shot in the Eastern Cape in South Africa and is about a young girl and how she deals with the fact that her mother is HIV+ and how she gets support from her friends. Watch it below or head here to watch full screen.
Today, there will be a red ribbon on HobnoxTV. You can get your own by following this link. The Red Ribbon is the global symbol for solidarity with HIV-positive people and those living with AIDS. Show your support and get involved.
Jury Picks: Category MUSIC

Happy 1st December to you all. We are as excited as you to finally know what projects have been picked for the final round of voting. As I write, we're still waiting for the last confirmations on the jury picks for the categories Film & Culture but will kick off the day with the Music category. Here we go - the following projects have been picked by our jury members for the category Music:
UPDATE: They say that shit happens on a Monday, right? We were a bit quick with the announcement of the finalists based on a wrong setting of the Top 100 evaluation. That means we announced 5 projects by mistake that were generated out of a weekly Top 100 and not the overall Top 100. We're really sorry for that and hope that hasn't caused you too much inconveniences. We would like to specially apologize to the folks behind the projects for that mistake. We've updated the right finalists in the above list.

99virals - It's all about viral videos

Back when the world was 1.0 you could place your commercials and Ads in newspapers and magazines, on the radio or TV. Those days are long gone and now all you have to do to get your message across is produce a little clip and upload it on a video platform. Then you get a couple of bloggers to blog about it, send a link to a hundred friends and PRESTO! Instant success. Millions will watch your clip as it spreads virally to the outermost regions of the worldwide web.
We've picked up the trend by presenting Forward - The Viral Video Award, which took place earlier this month as an addition to The 24th International Shortfilm Festival in Berlin. We liked the viral videos in that competition so much that we decided to take them as the foundation of our latest show 99virals.
As an appetizer enjoy Sink Mediaspree, the second rank of the public voting at Forward - The Viral Video Award.
