es gibt ein neues Feature auf Hobnox, dass dein Profil und dein Projekt (noch) schöner macht:

Eine Stage-Vorschau im Cover-Flow-Stil.

Und so sieht der Coverflow aus:

Um den Coverflow zu aktivieren, gehe auf myProfil, klicke auf
('Details anzeigen' und dann auf) 'Mein Profil anzeigen' und dann auf 'Mein Profil anpassen'.

Öffne nun 'Entscheide, was andere auf deinem Profil sehen können'.

Wähle hier 'myStage Cowerflow' und klicke 'speichern'.

Natürlich kannst du diesen Coverflow auch auch in deinem Projekt-Profil anzeigen lassen, der Weg ist (in etwa) derselbe wie oben beschrieben:

We've got some fine music on Hobnox, indeed! You guys are really busy uploading tracks, which is great. Most of that stuff should be featured on the Hobnox stage and therefore, I'd like to encourage you to replace the thumbnails of your audio files by something that represents you and your work a little better than our default thumbs...individualize your audio files!

This is how it's done:

1. Go to the myFiles or projectFiles section

2. Click on the file that needs a new thumb

3. Click the 'change thumbnails' button

4. Browse your harddrive and select a new one

Hallo Community!

Habt ihr euch schon das Hobnox Audiotool angeschaut? Ist nicht schlimm wenn nicht, hier kommt der Blogpost, der euch allen das 'richtige' Rumspielen überhaupt erst ermöglicht!

Das Hobnox Audiotool

1. Start
Auf deinem Tisch siehst du einen Satz Maschinen, alle durch Kabel miteinander verbunden. Das das Output-Kabel jeder Maschine führt zum Mixer und dieser ist über deine Soundkarte mit deinen Computerboxen verbunden. Ziehst du hier alle Kabel raus, genau, kommt kein Signal mehr an.

Im unteren Teil der Applikation findest du die Kontrollleiste mit Funktionen wie zum Beispiel Play, Stop, BMP etc.

Wenn du auf den 'Play'-Button klickst, kannst du den ersten Sound vom Audiotool hören.

Um auf deinem Tisch navigieren zu können, musst du einfach nur neben eines der Geräte klicken und ziehen, oder du drückst 'Shift' und 1, 2 oder 3.
Das reicht als allgemeine Einführung, jetzt kommt der lustige Teil!

2. Der TR-909 Drum Computer

Sprechen wir zunächst über die 909. Da gibt es oben eine Reihe roter LEDs – siehst du die ganz links oben? Sie leuchtet, das heißt, die Bass Drum ist momentan markiert und somit editierbar. Ganz unten findest du eine Leiste mit Buttons. Klick ruhig mal einige an, bis sie aufleuchten. Wenn du nun auf der Kontroll-Leiste „Play“ anklickst, hörst du deine erste Komposition. Jetzt kannst du mit den anderen Instrumenten auf der 909 arbeiten, zum Beispiel mit der Snare Drum. Markiere sie und du siehst, dass die Buttonleiste unten erlischt, obwohl die Bass Drum weiterläuft. Jetzt klick wieder auf den Buttons herum. Hörst du’s? So geht das! Und jetzt probiere dasselbe mit allen anderen Instrumenten.
Wenn du den Klang irgendeines Instrumentes verändern willst, mach Folgendes: bleiben wir bei der Snare Drum - klingt sie dir vielleicht zu bissig? Du siehst bei der Snare Drum einige Drehregler. Klick mal auf den „snappy“-Drehregler und halte ihn gedrückt. Bewege nun die Maus hoch und runter. Wie du hörst, verändert sich der Klang der Snare Drum, je nachdem, in welche Richtung du die Maus bewegst. So funktionieren auch alle anderen Drehregler.
Also gut, in Grundzügen steht deine erste Komposition, aber vier Takte sind nicht wirklich ausreichend, oder? Um sie zu verlängern, solltest du zunächst mal einen Blick auf das rote Display werfen. Es zeigt dir die Länge deines Patterns in Steps an. Klick auf die Buttons links daneben, um es zu verlängern oder zu kürzen, bis zu 64 Steps kann eine Pattern lang sein. Das ist schon was, und die "Edit-Range"-Buttons helfen dir dabei, den Überblick zu behalten. Ein Beispiel: du willst ab Step 17 etwas verändern, also markierst du die 32 auf der "Edit-Range". Jetzt wird dir der Bereich zwischen Step 17 und 32 angezeigt und du kannst hier loslegen.
Die Pattern-Selection ermöglicht es dir, zwischen mehreren Patterns zu wechseln. Insgesamt hast du vier "Pattern-Banks" zu je sieben Patterns zur Verfügung - das bedeutet, du kannst bis zu 28 Musikpatterns produzieren.

3. Der TR-808 Drum Computer
Neben der 909 steht auch die 808 bereit. Sie hat natürlich einen anderen Sound, wird aber genauso wie die 909 bedient – mit nur kleinen Unterschieden, aber die sind zu gering, um hier genannt zu werden. Deshalb tun wir's nicht.

4. Der TB-303 Synthesizer
Okay, 808 und 909 läuft. Versuchen wir es jetzt mit der 303. Das Prinzip der Patterns, "Pattern-Banks" und Drehregler ist das gleiche. Aber der große Unterschied ist: bei der 303 komponierst du auf einer Klaviatur. Wie bei jedem normalen Klavier, stehen dir mehrere Oktaven zur Verfügung. Da du hier jedoch nicht mit deinen Händen spielen kannst, musst du beim Komponieren mitzählen. Das Display auf der linken Seite zeigt dir, wie viele Steps du hast; auf dem rechten wählst du die Steps aus. Verstanden?
Versuch mal Folgendes: klick zuerst links unten auf "Clear", um die Patterns zu leeren. Wähle jetzt irgendeinen Ton auf der Klaviatur aus und markiere ihn. Wie du siehst, leuchtet die LED auf dem markierten Ton auf. In der Standardeinstellung stehen alle Steps auf Mute - um das zu ändern, klicke auf "note on/off", so dass der Button leuchtet.
Zu Step zwei kommst du, indem du unter dem Display rechts "next" anklickst. Stell nun den nächsten Ton ein und gehe dann wieder auf "note on/off", um ihn hörbar zu machen.
Mit den beiden Drehreglern links vom Volume-Button wählst du aus, welches Pattern innerhalb welcher Pattern-Bank du bearbeiten möchtest. So kannst du bis zu 28 Patterns für eine Komposition nutzen!
Wenn du die oberen Drehregler bedienst, wirkt sich das auf alle Patterns in deiner 303 aus. Mittlerweile weißt du ja, wie die Regler funktionieren, oder? Diese hier hast du garantiert schon mal gehört...versuch's doch einfach mal!

5. Die Bodenpedale
Alles klar, mittlerweile müsstest du dich schon wie ein professioneller Musikproduzent fühlen, richtig? Dann probier' doch mal die Bodenpedale aus, die eröffnen dir noch mal völlig neue Möglichkeiten. Mit ihnen kannst du deiner Komposition Effekte hinzufügen. Aber bevor wir ins Detail gehen, probier' doch mal ein bisschen herum. Du aktivierst die Pedale, indem du sie mit den anderen Geräten verkabelst. Siehst du die Drehregler? Du weißt Bescheid: dreh dran!

So, das war's zum Einstieg, wir hoffen, es hilft und gefällt. In Kürze wird es hier ein paar neue Maschinen und Spielereien geben. Viel Spaß mit dem Audiotool!

The Hobnox Audiotool

1. Start
Let’s get started. On the desktop you see a set of machines, all linked with cables. The last cable of every machine is plugged into the Mixer. This connects with your computer speakers. If you disconnect a cable, well, you lose your signal.

At the bottom of the application you see a bar with several command buttons, such as play, stop, measure, BPM, etc. We call this the 'ControlBars'.

To navigate on your table, simply click aside any device to move around, or klick 'shift' and 1, 2 or 3. This is just a general overview of your board, now comes the fun part!

2. The TR-909 Drum Computer
Look for the TR-909. There’s a bunch of red LEDs, see the one to the left at the top? It indicates that the bass drum is currently selected. Now at the bottom, there’s a large bank of 16 step buttons. Click some of them until they’re lit. Now, press play on the ControlBar. Hear the sound? That’s your composition! Now select some other instruments on the 909, for example the snare drum. Press select, you’ll see how the step buttons become blank again, though the bass drum is still running. Now go and press some of the buttons. Hear it? There you go! Try this on all the other instruments.
If you want to modify the sound of any instrument, try this example: The snare drum is too snappy? Click and hold the turning knob that says „snappy“, now move the mouse up or down. As you can hear, it becomes more or less snappy. Try this as well with all the other knobs on your 909. Now you have even more options to compose at hand!
Alright, got your composition, but 16 beats might be a bit short, isn’t it? To extend your pattern, see the red display. It shows the length of your pattern by step. Click on the buttons next to it to extend or shorten your pattern. You can extend it to a maximum of 64 steps. To avoid a long pattern to get out of range for you to edit, just use the edit range buttons. For example: To edit your pattern at beat 17 or higher, select „32“ on the edit range. Now the range from beat 17 to 32 is represented on the step bank.
The pattern selection allows you to switch between numerous patterns. You can compose seven patterns in four banks, giving you a variety of up to 28 self-composed patterns. That's it!

3. The TR-808 Drum Computer
There’s also the 808. It is operated just as the 909 with differences too small to mention them here. So we don't...


4. The TB-303 Synthesizer
Let’s try the TB-303. The basic principle of patterns, banks and turning knobs of the 909 applies here as well. The major difference here is that you compose using a keyboard on the 303. Like a piano’s keyboard, it shows you several octaves. Now as you can’t play with your hands here, you’ve got to count while composing. The display to the left shows you how many steps you’ve got. At the very right you can select your step. Confusing?
Try this: First, clear the pattern, press clear on the bottom left. Now select any tone on the keyboard. You’ll see the LED on the selected note lights up. By default, all steps are set to mute - to change this, see the button called „note on/off“, it’s close to the volume knob. If it is lit, it will unmute the present note.
Go to step two by pressing „next“ at the very right. Now select a tone again and, if you want it to be played, unmute it as well. Go on like this until you have set a tone or a pause for every step.
With the two turning knobs left of the volume control, you can select which pattern within which bank of patterns you’d like to edit. This gives you the opportunity to edit up to 28 patterns for your own extravaganza!
The turning knobs at the top have an effect on all patterns of your 303. We think you know by now how knobs work, don’t you? These ones you have heard before, but always wondered what it is... give them a try!

5. The Footpedals
Alright, we guess you feel already like a professional music producer? Now, to make your music even more unrivaled, try out the floorboards. They take the sound of the preceding machine (see the cable) and flange it, add a delay and do a lot more! But before we go into detail, just hear for yourself. Activate them by inserting a cable from one machine and connecting it to another or the output-device. See the turning knobs? Right, you know the deal: turn them!

That’s it. In a little time, we’ll have some new machines and gadgets here for you! Have fun with our Audiotool!

We've got news for you regarding our embed player: since it only supports the 16:9 format yet, any 4:3 content will be played back smaller than you expected. Soon we will implement the possibility to choose the format. For the time being, there's a little work-around:

Look at the embed code and you will find the attribute "height=270" twice. Just change them to "height=360" and you get one fine 4:3 embed player.

Es gibt Neuigkeiten in Sachen Embed-Player: da wir ihn bis jetzt nur in 16:9 anbieten, werden Inhalte in 4:3 eher schlecht als recht dargestellt. Bis wir die Format-Auswahl implementiert haben (Beta!), könnt ihr euch folgendermaßen helfen:

Im Embed Code gibt es zwei mal das Attribut "height=270". Ändert es in "height=360" und ihr habt einen 1a-Embed-Player in 4:3.
