Zu aller erst: Was ist das Hobnox-Livetool?

Das Livetool ist ein Programm, um eine selbstkonzipierte Webshow oder ein Livekonzert ins
Internet zu streamen.
'Programm' ist in diesem Fall nicht ganz das richtige Wort, da du keine Software installieren musst. Klicke einfach auf 'Noxtools' und dann auf 'Start Livetool Demo'.

Und übrigens, bevor du fragst: Ja, dein Livestream wird automatisch aufgenommen. Er steht dann als normales Web-Video in deinen MyFiles zur Verfügung.

Die technischen Vorraussetzungen für einen Livestream erfüllst du, wenn du eine Web-Cam, einen aktuellen Browser (z.B. Firefox 3) und einen DSL-Anschluss hast. Weitere Geräte, wie z.B. ein Mikrofon oder Mischpult kannst du ebenfalls nutzen.

Schritt 1: Start
Wenn du das Livetool öffnest, siehst du im Browser folgendes Bild:

Wenn du eine Kamera angeschlossen hast, sollte sie sofort erscheinen. Natürlich kannst du auch noch weitere Kameras hinzufügen (USB oder Firewire). Klicke dafür auf 'Find Camera'

Schritt 2: Kamera einbinden
Ziehe per Drag'n'Drop deine angeschlossene Kamera in das Storyboard im unteren Teil des Browserfensters.

Schritt 3: Video-Clip hinzufügen
Wenn du einen 'Einspieler" in deinem Livestream präsentieren willst (Vor- oder Abspann, Videoclip), gehe in  deine 'Media Collection' und füge den Clip zum Storyboard hinzu.
(Hinweis: Der Clip muss dafür in deinen myFiles 'Public for all' sein) 

Schritt 4: Testen und Streamen
Deinen Clip und deine Kameras kannst du testen, in dem du im Storyboard auf 'Start preview' klickst. Wenn alles zu deiner Zufriedenheit ist, klicke auf 'Start Livestream', dann bist du live auf Sendung.Dein Livestram ist jetzt für alle Internet-User sichtbar unter www.hobnox.com/stage/username.

Schritt 5: Werbung machen.
Werbung für deinen Livestream kannst du machen, in dem du auf 'Promote Livestream' klickst. Den Link-Code kannst du an deine Freunde mailen, aber vergiss nicht, Datum und Uhrzeit deiner Show anzukündigen. Ist ja live!
Der Link-Code funktioniert natürlich auch für deine kommenden Shows. Der Stream findet auf deiner User-Stage unter 'Liveshow' statt.
Werbung in der Community kannst du machen, in dem du einen Event ankündigst. Am entsprechenden Tag wird die Community auf deinen Livestream aufmerksam gemacht.

Hinweis: Deine Zuschauer müssen nicht bei Hobnox angemeldet sein, um deinen Livestram zu sehen.

How to broadcast your own liveshow on the web.

Create your own video blog or stream your bands next gig with the Livetool. Record your Livestream, save it to the myFiles section in your account and present it on your stage or in a blog post.

First of all, what is the Livetool?

Well, the Livetool could best be described as a broadcasting studio right in your browser. If you're using a laptop, then the Livetool becomes a mobile broadcasting studio.

What you can basically do, is to select one or two cameras (the tool will automatically detect a new video source) and stream it live on your user stage of your Hobnox profile. Plus, you can select on-demand files from your user library, assign them to a slot on your storyboard and stream them live. That way, you become the director of your own live program.

You can select whether you wish to record the show. If you do so, the Livetool will automatically save the video file to your user library for everyone to enjoy your broadcast on demand later on.

Now we will try to guide you through the Livetool using screenshots. Here we go.

Start:
This is what it looks like when you open the Livetool Demo:

As you can see in the slot, the tool automatically found the built-in camera of my laptop. If it doesn't find yours, click 'Find Camera' in the upper left screen. You can connect another external camera via USB/Firewire if you want to. It should appear immediately. If not, click 'Find Camera'. I connected a second camera via Firewire (the slot on the right).

Step 2:
To add a camera, drag the video source into Storyboard, it should look like this:

If you want to, you can now add on-demand files from your 'myFiles' section of your account. To do so, find the 'Media Collection' tab on the top of the screen. Then, click 'Add Item(s)' and select the file from your library.

Step3: Adding a Video
I chose a video of the band 'Does It Offend You, Yeah?' from the Melt!-Festival and dragged it into a second slot in my Storyboard where I can preview it and find the time slot I want the video to start (you can delete a slot by clicking on the '-' sign below the item):

Now, you can preview the stream in the upper right 'Live Monitor' by clicking 'Start Preview' above the item in your storyboard slot.

Step 4: Start broadcasting
If you're happy with your camera set-up and the media items you want to stream, click 'Start Livestream' above the 'Live Monitor' and the live stream starts after asking if you *really* want to start:

Your liveshow is now being streamed live on your profile on the myStage. You can find it under www.hobnox.com/stage/username.

Step 5: Promotion
If you want to send a link to your friends click on 'Promote Liveshow' and then 'Get link code' in the upper navigation. Note: You can send this link also for shows which will start in the future!

Step 6:
When clicking the link, users will be directed to the live stream on your user profile and this will look like that:

Step 7: Recording
Below the 'Live Monitor' you'll see that the box 'Record livestream...' is checked by default. That way, your show is automatically recorded and will be saved into your 'myFiles' section of your profile (the tool will ask you for the details when clicking 'Stop Livestream'). You can of course change the details and the publishing status later. Here's a shot of my recorded show in the 'myFiles' section of my profile.

as you might have noticed, the rankings changed in all three contest categories. In a short time, high-ranked projects found themselves on much lower ranks. This wasn’t a bug! In order to preserve the fairness of the Evolution2 and give every contestant an equal chance to win, we had to block votes that came from fake accounts.
We will continue to make use of the right to block votes if we identify fake accounts – probably soon.

Videos und Musik in Blogs einbinden
...funktioniert so: Gehe auf eine Stage (deine eigene oder die Hobnox-Stage), wähle einen Song oder ein Video aus, kopiere den Embed-Code. Dann editiere deinen Blog und klicke auf "Insert embed code" im Text-Editor. Es öffnet sich ein Fenster, in das du den Embed-Code kopieren kannst. Das Ergebnis sieht dann so aus:

Um deinen Blog-Lesern zu zeigen, welche Blogs du gerne liest, kannst du rechts neben deinem Blog jetzt 'feste' Links setzten. Gehe dafür in den Editier-Modus deines Blogs und klicke auf 'Blogroll management'. Gebe einen Namen und eine URL ein, dann noch speichern.

es gibt ein neues Feature auf Hobnox, dass dein Profil und dein Projekt (noch) schöner macht:

Eine Stage-Vorschau im Cover-Flow-Stil.

Und so sieht der Coverflow aus:

Um den Coverflow zu aktivieren, gehe auf myProfil, klicke auf
('Details anzeigen' und dann auf) 'Mein Profil anzeigen' und dann auf 'Mein Profil anpassen'.

Öffne nun 'Entscheide, was andere auf deinem Profil sehen können'.

Wähle hier 'myStage Cowerflow' und klicke 'speichern'.

Natürlich kannst du diesen Coverflow auch auch in deinem Projekt-Profil anzeigen lassen, der Weg ist (in etwa) derselbe wie oben beschrieben:

We've got some fine music on Hobnox, indeed! You guys are really busy uploading tracks, which is great. Most of that stuff should be featured on the Hobnox stage and therefore, I'd like to encourage you to replace the thumbnails of your audio files by something that represents you and your work a little better than our default thumbs...individualize your audio files!

This is how it's done:

1. Go to the myFiles or projectFiles section

2. Click on the file that needs a new thumb

3. Click the 'change thumbnails' button

4. Browse your harddrive and select a new one
