Munich, Berlin the 12th of June, 2008. Hobnox.com has been awarded the Grimme Online Award.
The internet platform competed against Sandra Schadek and the ZDFmediathek and won in the newly established category "Special".
The jury's reason for selecting Hobnox is as follows:
"The newly established category "Special" honors innovative and qualitatively outstanding concepts in web-development. And that is exactly what hobnox.com is. The idea is groundbreaking: The term "multimedia" is not just a buzzword, as the platform truly shows the potential of future broadband convergent internet possibilities. The diversified mix of non-linear video- and audio-formats, blog modules and network elements are united in a sophisticated surrounding. Together with the thematic focus on Music, Film and Urban Culture, this serves as a motivation for artists and media workers to upload their projects onto hobnox.com.
The jury would especially like to draw attention to the so-called "Noxtools"."
These are a video-broadcasting tool and software for electronic music production.
"These tools enable even normal users to collaborate with others to create and produce music and video content directly on the platform. It's the design that has been awarded, as it adds a decisive factor to the positive overall impression of the site; from the navigation to the exquisite trailers and the brilliant quality of the videos."

Since June 2008, Hobnox is in its open beta-phase and accessible to everyone. We invite creative people to join our Evolution2 contest. Artist can upload and present their works in three categories: Music, Film and Culture. Hobnox will give away an artist-development package worth US$ 30,000 to one lucky winner in each category.
