Hobnox takes the next step by developing from a web-entertainment portal into an online-publishing platform
Cologne, November 1st, 2007. Today the new development stage of the web-entertainment and publishing platform Hobnox begins - the "Hobnox Evolution". Hobnox will evolve to become a rich-media publishing platform, enabling artists to become the first. Hobnox-creatives. The start of "Hobnox Evolution" is the beginning of a four month period in which artists, musicians and filmmakers have the opportunity to win a personally tailored Artist Support Package worth €25.000.
The Evolution phase aims to find the most active protagonists of modern culture, who until now, have been unable to present their work on a high quality platform. "Hobnox Evolution" invites artists to upload their material onto hobnox.com to present their projects. Artists can exchange ideas with like-minded people, get feedback on their work and be part of the "Hobnox Evolution" contest. Until 31st of January 2008, Hobnox-users will vote the three runners-up in each category: Music, Film and Urban Culture. The nine winners of the preliminary round will be invited to come to Berlin for the "Hobnox Evolution" festival, which will take place between the 27th and 29th of February 2008.
The festival represents the end of this "Hobnox Evolution" phase. Our jury will vote three final winners; one in each category. The artists will have to represent their work personally to our expert jury by playing a live concert (Music), exhibit their art (Urban Culture) and show their entries for the film contest at the cinema (Film). Among the jury members are Moneybrother (Sony Music), Linus Volkmann (intro Magazine), Jaybo Monk (Style & The Family Tunes) and Tyron Ricketts (actor).
In each contest category, we are offering a personally tailored Artist-Development Package worth €25.000. The set up of this package will be defined by the winners in collaboration with a team of experts. The support package could enable the artists to produce their first film, album or music video. It could help with the realization of an exhibition or it could provide the necessary marketing tools, to spread their name. It could also help the artists to buy equipment he or she may require to realize future projects. Whatever needs the artists may have, the Artist-Support Package will make it possible.
The support of the Hobnox artists does not end with the "Hobnox Evolution" festival. In February 2008, the Hobnox-platform will launch in its first stage of expansion with groundbreaking community, production and publishing tools. It is a stage, where artists can upload their works and represent the whole community. They can collaborate, exchange ideas and receive feedback from friends, fans and experts.
Hobnox is here to help artists in their creative process and offers a variety of opportunities to get their work known. The Hobnox-editorial team will be constantly searching for new high-quality material to add to the channels. The community (as well as the Hobnox-editorial team) will continuously view, rate and choose works that are relevant and up to date in the categories - film, music and urban culture. Even after the "Hobnox Evolution" has come to an end, Hobnox will continue to give artists more than just a stage. It will offer them a place where they can collaborate, exchange and aid each other in their own artistic development. Hobnox offers more than your average online publishing platform; it is a meeting point, workshop, stage and marketplace all in one.
